Re: [1904-ANWG] 1904.3 PAR approval

That has been the plan. We probably have a telco or few already before Feb f2f meeting, though.

Glen,

I assume that this WG would be meeting also in February in Louisville and that the work would then be kicked off in close cooperation with 802.1?

Regards

Marek

Subject: [1904-ANWG] 1904.3 PAR approval

Dear Colleagues,

I am glad to announce that at its meeting this morning, the IEEE SA Standards Board has approved the P1904.3 PAR with a vote 15:7.

There was a fairly strong opposition from the 802.1 working group chair, whose main concern was the potential impact of this project on the work of 802.1.

For the 1904.3 project, it will be more important than ever to have a very close collaboration with 802.1. As such I will establish an official 1904 liaison to 802.1. Informal socialization at the membership will also be encouraged. And finally, perhaps future meeting hosts will find an opportunity to collocate 1904.3 and 802.1 meetings. These and other options will be explored as the projects get underway.

Congratulations again to all and special thanks to the solid team of 1904.3 supporters. Welcome to the 1904 Access Networks Working Group!
