[1904-ANWG] Update on 1904.4 SA ballot and current status

Dear 1904 Working group members,

Here is the update on the 1904.4 project. The 1st recirculation ballot has closed on May 14, 2025. The ballot had 91.7% return rate and 100% approval rate. No new comments were received.

As there were no new DISAPPROVE votes and no remaining unsatisfied â??requiredâ?? comments,  the ballot process has concluded. The IEEE process calls for the draft that successfully passed the SA ballot to be submitted to RevCom, that is to say that neither the working group approval, nor the approval by the project sponsor are required at this stage. The Draft D3.1 has been submitted to RevCom  and is placed on the RevCom agenda for September 9, 2025 meeting.

There are no working group agenda for the upcoming June 3rd meeting, so I am cancelling that meeting. I will be posting updates on the project progress as I receive them.

Our small working group has produced this very expansive and detailed specification. I want to express my deepest gratitude and appreciation to all of you for your commitments and significant efforts to complete this standard.

I plan to have at least one more WG call sometimes after the September RevCom meeting to discuss the future of the 1904 Access Networks Working Group.

If anyone wants to request a discussion or to suggest another study/project, please do reach out to me to get your item on the agenda.

Sincerely,

Glen Kramer
