[1904-ANWG] Announcing the beginning of Initial WG Letter Ballot on 1904.1-Rev/D2.0

Dear Colleagues,

At the 1904 October meeting, the voting members have passed a motion to produce D2.0 and initiate the working group ballot.

The draft D2.0 is available at http://www.ieee1904.org/private/revision/projects/1904_1_2013/drafts/rmtf_1904_1_2013_drafts.shtml.

A marked-up version shows the changes versus the approved IEEE Std 1904.1-2013 standard. This version is provided for your reference only.

All the comments, if you have any, shall be submitted against the clean version of the draft rmtf_1904_1_2013rev_D2_0_clean.pdf  (http://www.ieee1904.org/private/revision/projects/1904_1_2013/drafts/D2_0/rmtf_1904_1_2013rev_D2_0_clean.pdf).

The schedule for the D2.0 WG ballot is as follows:

·         Friday, October 30, 2015 — Start of WG Ballot Period

·         Tuesday, December 1, 2015 — Ballots and Comments are due

·         Monday, December 7, 2015 — Editor's proposed responses are due

To submit a ballot and comments, please use the following online form: http://www.ieee1904.org/private/revision/rmtf_ballotproc.shtml.

All comments shall be submitted using the provided comment file: http://www.ieee1904.org/documents/templates/anwg_YYMM_comments_lastname_n.xlsm.

Voting in WG ballots is required for maintaining WG voting rights. WG voting members may submit one of these votes:

·         Approve. (May attach non-binding comments.)

·         Do Not Approve. (Shall attach specific comments on what shall be done to the draft to change the vote to “Approve”.)

·         Abstain. (Shall include reasons for abstention.)

One of the requirements to progress the draft to the next stage (i.e., to Sponsor ballot) is the 2/3 or greater approval ratio [counted as Approve/(Approve+DoNotApprove).]

A ‘Do Not Approve’ vote shall be accompanied by at least one ER or TR comment.

A ballot is considered invalid (failed to close) if less than 75% of voting members reply or if abstentions comprise 30% or more of all returned ballots.

Regards,

Glen Kramer
